Mepkin Abbey is a community of Roman Catholic monks established in 1949 on the site of the historic Mepkin Plantation located on the Cooper River, north of Charleston, South Carolina. The monastery is located on the Cooper River, just outside of Charleston, SC, and includes several miles of river front and about 3,000 acres of beautifully preserved and maintained woodland and farmland.
