In this workshop, we will: define a relationship-based model that supports evidence-based therapeutic interventions for recognizing and responding to trauma-related behaviors in children with attachment disruption; practice techniques to reduce stigma related to parents involved in the child welfare system and increase participation by all caretakers in family team meetings and court appearances; and review educational materials to decrease stigma and increase understanding of trauma for families and family court judges. This presentation will focus on how these collaborative services can reduce child removal and increase parent/child bonding, all while mothers receive the treatment they need to parent safely.
